Classic Cabbage Rolls

Classic Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 1 Medium Cabbage, outer leaves removed

  • 1 Cup of Cherry Tomatoes, halved

  • 2 TBSP Olive Oil

  • 1 LB of Local Ground Beef

  • 1 Large Onion, chopped

  • 1 Clove of Garlic, minced

  • 2 Cups of Rice, cooked

  • 1 TBSP of Black Pepper

  • 1 TSP Salt

  • 1 TSP Paprika

  • 2 Large Tomatoes, sliced

  • 1 Cup Beef Broth

Directions:

  1. Prepare a large pot of boiling water and a large ice bath bowl.

  2. Boil the cabbage leaves for 2 minutes, and carefully transfer them into the ice bath. This will the stop the cooling process and allow you to handle the cabbage leaves sooner.

  3. In a separate pot cook the rice as directed and set aside.

  4. In a pan on medium heat, cook your olive oil, garlic, onions, and meat.

  5. Once the meat has fully cooked, add the spices and cherry tomatoes.

  6. Let the mixture cook down on medium heat for 10-12 minutes.

  7. Remove the pan from heat and add the rice. Mix everything well and let cool for 10 minutes,

  8. In a 9 x 11 casserole dish, add the remaining tomatoes, beef broth and season with salt and pepper.

  9. Roll the cabbage rolls and lay in the casserole pan.

  10. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until the cabbage rolls are slightly browned at the top and the tomatoes are bubbling.

  11. Remove from the oven and let cool.

    Serve and enjoy!
