Hot Basil Dip

This dip is fresh, light, flavorful and smells irresistible. Basil is always in high demand at our farm, but luckily our John is the best basil grower around! Hot Basil Dip

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves, loosely packed (one of the LFM fresh basil packages is exactly this amount!)

  • 2 cups grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 8 ounces regular cream cheese

  • 1/2 TBSP freshly ground black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup sour cream

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Chop basil finely and mince garlic. In a large bowl mix the sour cream and cream cheese with a hand mixer until smooth.

  3. Add the basil and garlic to the bowl. and mix with a silicon spoon.

  4. Add the salt, pepper and 1 cup of cheese to the bowl and mix well.

  5. Transfer the mixture to a heat proof baking dish of your choice. A 6 inch round pan or 4x4 square pa is recommended. Cover with the remaining 1 cup of cheese.

  6. Bake for 20 minutes.
